June is National Safety Month

Join the National Safety Council and thousands of companies, associations, and other groups across the country as we strive for a single initiative: “No One Gets Hurt.” (#No1GetsHurt for your social media postings.)

National Safety Month, which is observed in June each year, focuses on reducing leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road, and in our homes. The National Safety Council provides downloadable resources highlighting a different safety topic for each week in June:

  • Week 1: Emergency Preparedness
  • Week 2: Wellness
  • Week 3: Falls
  • Week 4: Driving

You can help spread the word by visiting www.nsc.org and using the downloadable materials. Use your own creativity to engage co-workers, families, and friends in safety throughout the month. The following will help get you started:

  • Create bulletin boards, newsletters or blog posts
  • Hold a safety trivia contest with weekly prizes
  • Make an activity out of identifying hazards where you work and live
  • Throw a safety fair, lunch ‘n learn or celebratory luncheon
  • Encourage others to take the SafeAtWork pledge at nsc.org/workpledge
  • Share posts on your social media channels using #No1GetsHurt
  • Provide safety training — watch for special NSM discounts or free opportunities
  • Show you care about safety by making a donation to NSC

The National Safety Council is committed to saving lives and preventing injuries, including raising public awareness of the opioid epidemic, helping to reduce motor vehicle crashes, and improving safety practices in workplaces all across the country.

The “No One Gets Hurt” theme is in alignment with our journey to safety culture excellence and the Colas Goal Zero Process. We will be sharing information, ideas, and resources through emails, texts, Twitter (@DeltaCompanies), Facebook (@DeltaCompaniesInc), and Instagram (Delta Companies Inc). We look forward to hearing from you with suggestions and success stories.
