Yesterday, Colas Inc. representative Jon Hager (Plants and Equipment) performed the final inspection at the Southern Illinois Stone (SIS) Quarry Shop in Buncombe, Illinois. And, we are delighted and proud to inform you the shop earned the coveted Colas 6S Shop Certification – BRONZE Level.
Greg Edwards, Rodney Lingle, and their team have worked diligently toward the 6S of:
- Safety,
- Sort,
- Straighten,
- Shine,
- Standardize, and
- Sustain.
The SIS Quarry crew includes Kevin Minton, Kevin Gibson, Jethro Lanphear, Joe Nelson, Daniel Webb, Richard Jones, Jerry Latham, Zach Irwin, Jacob Winter, Chris McCabe, Bryce Ford, and Bob Andrezejewski.

Manufacturing Region Manager Dan Grier, Plants & Equipment Manager Jerry Farnham, Quarry Mechanic Kevin Minton, Quarry Foreman Rodney Lingle, Quarry Manager Greg Edwards, Colas Inc. Plants & Equipment Jon Hager, Aggregates Area Manager Mike Martin, and Delta President Zach Green. EHS Manager Bruce Menke and Manufacturing Region EHS Coordinator Jerry Neels were also there to witness the SIS Quarry Shop receive its Bronze statute.
