Southern Illinois Stone Company has earned the Environmental Excellence – Gold award from the
Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP). The Environmental Excellence Awards program recognizes those producer members who have taken exemplary strides to comply with the multitude of
Federal, State, and local regulations concerning the protection of our air, water, and land. These efforts not only reward our Company specifically, they reward the industry, and will help to enhance the public’s perception of both in the process.
The site is judged on nineteen different criteria including approved training program; written Environmental Policy; Method 9 – Visible Emissions Evaluation; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP); and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC).
